Cheapest Postpaid Package 2026: Jazz, Zong, Ufone and Telenor Compared

Telenor's Freedom 500 at Rs 600 a month is the cheapest postpaid package available, while Ufone's Prime Mega at Rs 1,700 gives the best data value at 200 GB. Here is how every postpaid plan from Jazz, Zong, Ufone and Telenor compares, based on PTA's 30 September 2026 tariff list.

Postpaid plans are getting a fresh look in 2026. PTA posted updated tariff files on its website on 6 October 2026, listing every standard postpaid plan from Jazz, Telenor, Zong and Ufone — with the monthly line rent, free data, minutes and security deposits, all updated to 30 September 2026. This guide compares them so you can see which network gives you the most for your money.

One thing to know first: PTA says the monthly line rent already includes all government taxes. Anything you use beyond your plan is charged extra, plus tax.

Cheapest entry plan on each network

NetworkCheapest planLine rent (monthly)DataSecurity deposit
TelenorFreedom 500Rs 6005 GBRs 1,200
TelenorSmart 300Rs 6181 GBRs 1,200
ZongBronzeRs 80010 GBRs 1,000
UfonePrime 1000Rs 1,00020 GBRs 1,200
Jazz15 GB plan (Value)Rs 1,60015 GBRs 1,700

Telenor has the cheapest entry point — Freedom 500 at Rs 600 a month, with 5 GB, 3,000 Telenor minutes and 150 minutes to other networks. Zong’s Bronze at Rs 800 gives twice the data (10 GB) and 300 off-net minutes, so if you call people on other networks often, Bronze is the better buy for Rs 200 more. Jazz has no postpaid plan below Rs 1,600 — almost three times Telenor’s entry price.

Note on Telenor’s Smart range: the Smart plans are poor value on data — Smart 3000 costs Rs 4,741 and gives only 10 GB. Freedom Gold at Rs 1,000 gives 30 GB. If a shop offers you a Smart plan, ask for Freedom instead.

Best data value: Ufone Prime Mega wins

For heavy internet users, the real comparison is rupees per GB. Here is how the best-value large plans stack up:

Network and planLine rentDataRs per GB
Ufone Prime MegaRs 1,700200 GB8.5
Zong PlatinumRs 2,000200 GB10
Zong TitaniumRs 4,000400 GB10
Telenor Freedom Gold PlusRs 1,600100 GB16
Ufone Prime 1600Rs 1,600100 GB16
Jazz 200 GB plan (Elite)Rs 3,500200 GB17.5

Ufone’s Prime Mega is the clear winner: 200 GB, 10,000 Ufone minutes and 2,000 off-net minutes for Rs 1,700 — about Rs 8.50 per GB. Zong Platinum gives the same 200 GB for Rs 2,000. Jazz’s 200 GB plan costs Rs 3,500, the most expensive per GB of the four. (Per-GB figures are a rough guide, since minutes and SMS also have value.)

Jazz’s five postpaid plans

Jazz’s own price plan page lists five plans: 15 GB for Rs 1,600, 30 GB for Rs 2,000, 50 GB for Rs 2,500, 100 GB for Rs 3,000 and 200 GB for Rs 3,500 — all prices include tax. The two biggest plans add international minutes. Jazz costs more than Zong and Ufone for the same data at every size — but PTA’s city speed survey for April to June 2026 found Jazz the fastest network in 9 of 11 cities, which can justify the higher bill if speed matters more than price in your area.

Postpaid vs prepaid for heavy users

On Zong and Ufone, postpaid is cheaper than prepaid for heavy data users. Zong’s postpaid Platinum gives 200 GB for Rs 2,000, while its prepaid Monthly Pro Max Basic costs Rs 2,700 to load. On Ufone, postpaid Prime Mega is Rs 1,700. On Jazz the reverse is true: prepaid Monthly X works out cheaper than the Rs 3,500 postpaid plan once recharge taxes are added.

Deposits and overage charges

PTA’s list shows security deposits ranging from Rs 1,000 (Zong Bronze) up to Rs 6,500 (Telenor Smart 3000). For international roaming, Telenor, Zong and Ufone list a Rs 15,000 deposit, while Jazz lists Rs 5,000. Sources do not always agree on deposits, so confirm the figure at the counter before you pay.

Data beyond your plan is charged per MB: Rs 2 plus tax on Jazz, Rs 1 plus tax on Zong, Rs 1.20 plus tax on Telenor’s Freedom plans and Rs 3 plus tax on Ufone. If you often run out, the cheapest plan is not always the cheapest bill.

How to get a postpaid connection

  1. Pick a plan from the tables above and note its deposit.
  2. Visit the operator’s service centre or franchise with your original CNIC.
  3. Give your fingerprints for biometric verification.
  4. Pay the security deposit (refundable on Jazz plans, per its FAQ — ask your own operator how and when it is returned).
  5. Ask for the plan by name and check the line rent on your first bill.

Already on prepaid? You can convert your existing SIM on the same network, or port your number in from another network — a port-in on Jazz only needs the security deposit.
