If you are travelling from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia for Umrah, you do not need a Saudi SIM. All four Pakistani operators sell Saudi roaming bundles that keep your own number active, so family in Pakistan can still reach you on the same number. The bundles differ a lot on price per GB, on minutes, and on how tax is charged — so the cheapest headline price is not always the cheapest bundle once you pay.
One rule applies to every operator: activate international roaming and subscribe BEFORE you leave Pakistan. Once you land in Saudi Arabia without roaming switched on, you may not be able to activate a bundle from abroad.
Jazz Saudi Roaming Bundles
Jazz sells two Saudi data bundles for prepaid and postpaid users, both with tax included in the listed price. Calls and SMS are charged at Jazz’s Saudi roaming tariff unless a bundle includes minutes.
- Saudi Data Roaming 2 GB — Rs 2,749 (incl. tax), 30 days. Subscribe with *7626# or through the SIMOSA app.
- Saudi Data Roaming 6 GB — Rs 6,872 (incl. tax), 45 days. Same activation: *7626# or SIMOSA.
- Hajj Bundle 8 GB — Rs 6,500 (incl. tax), 8 GB plus 2 GB WhatsApp, 50 international minutes, 60 days. Caution: Jazz describes this as a Hajj-period offer. It may not be available for an Umrah trip, so ask Jazz before counting on it.
Jazz says its Saudi bundles work on all Saudi operators, and that WhatsApp audio and video calls work on them anywhere in Saudi Arabia. On listed price alone, Jazz works out at about Rs 1,375 per GB for the 2 GB bundle and about Rs 1,145 per GB for the 6 GB bundle — the most expensive per GB of the four operators, but the price already includes tax, so there is no extra amount to load.
Zong Umrah and Saudi Roaming Bundles
Zong has the clearest Umrah-named offers. Its official International Roaming bundles page lists them at a “consumer price”:
- Prepaid Roaming Mini Umrah Offer — Rs 1,500, 2 GB internet, 10 minutes, 10 SMS.
- Prepaid Roaming Super Umrah Offer — Rs 3,000, 5 GB internet, 20 minutes, 50 SMS.
- Prepaid Roaming Saudi Mega Offer — Rs 5,500, 10 GB plus 2 GB WhatsApp, 60 minutes, 60 SMS.
Zong also sells Saudi data-only bundles, priced plus tax: 1 GB for Rs 1,200 + tax (15 days), 3 GB for Rs 3,300 + tax (30 days), and 5 GB for Rs 5,400 + tax (45 days). Its voice-plus-data Saudi bundles are 1 GB with 30 minutes and 30 SMS for Rs 1,700 + tax (15 days), 3 GB with 60 minutes and 60 SMS for Rs 4,200 + tax (monthly), and 5 GB with 90 minutes and 90 SMS for Rs 6,600 + tax (45 days).
Subscribe through the My Zong App or the Zong IR bundles page; the data bundles are also available on *4255#. All three Umrah-named offers carry monthly validity. On listed price, the Super Umrah offer works out at about Rs 600 per GB and the Saudi Mega at about Rs 458 per GB including the WhatsApp data.
Ufone Saudi Arabia and UAE Buckets
Ufone sells Saudi Arabia and UAE data buckets that run for 30 days. The prices below are the “balance required” to activate a bucket, read directly from Ufone’s own page on 5 November 2026:
- Bucket 1 — Rs 790 balance, 1 GB, 30 days.
- Bucket 2 — Rs 1,390 balance, 2.5 GB, 30 days.
- Bucket 3 — Rs 2,650 balance, 5 GB, 30 days.
- Bucket 5 — Rs 2,900 balance (load), 5 GB, 120 minutes, 120 SMS, 30 days.
- Bucket 6 — Rs 3,900 balance (load), 10 GB, 120 minutes, 120 SMS, 30 days.
Dial *506# to open Ufone’s roaming bucket menu. One cost to keep in mind: Ufone buckets are paid from prepaid balance, and every prepaid recharge loses about 15 percent advance income tax, so loading a Rs 3,900 bucket costs roughly Rs 4,485 in cash. On listed price the 10 GB hybrid bucket is about Rs 390 per GB — the lowest per GB here — but after the recharge tax the cash cost is about Rs 449 per GB. Ufone’s postpay page separately lists KSA/UAE buckets at Rs 999 and Rs 2,499 and a Hajj roaming bucket at Rs 4,600, but it does not state the data size for those, so they are not compared here.
Telenor Umrah Bundles
Telenor sells two Umrah bundles for prepaid SIMs, both for 30 days and usable only while roaming in Saudi Arabia. Activate roaming first with *759# (free), at a franchise, or by calling 345. The bundles are Umrah Basic on *345*155# (1,000 MB, 30 minutes, 10 SMS) and Umrah Premium on *345*129# (3,000 MB, 40 minutes, 20 SMS).
The price is the problem: Telenor’s own pages disagree. The bundle pages list Basic at Rs 1,300 and Premium at Rs 2,500, while Telenor’s Umrah travel SIM page lists the same two bundles at Rs 1,500 and Rs 3,000. Until Telenor settles that, do not treat either figure as confirmed — check the price in the Telenor app or by dialling *759# before you buy.
One more thing to know: Telenor Pakistan merged into Ufone (PTML) on 1 July 2026. Existing Telenor packages are reported to continue during the transition until a single tariff is approved, so the Umrah bundles should still be available, but confirm that too before travelling.
Which Bundle Is Cheapest?
On listed price per GB, Ufone’s 10 GB hybrid bucket (about Rs 390 per GB, about Rs 449 in cash after recharge tax) and Zong’s Saudi Mega (about Rs 458 per GB) lead, followed by Zong’s Super Umrah (about Rs 600 per GB) and Ufone’s 5 GB bucket (about Rs 530 per GB). Jazz is the most expensive per GB, but its price includes tax and its bundles include WhatsApp calling on all Saudi networks.
Price per GB is not the whole answer. If you need minutes to call home, the bundles with minutes — Zong’s Super Umrah and Saudi Mega, Ufone’s hybrid buckets, Telenor’s Umrah bundles — are worth more than a data-only bundle of the same size. If you only need data for WhatsApp and maps, a data-only bundle is enough. And if your phone does not support eSIM, or you want to keep your Pakistani number active for bank OTPs, a roaming bundle beats buying a local Saudi SIM even when it costs more per GB.
Before You Fly: A Short Checklist
- Activate international roaming while still in Pakistan — Jazz *7626#, Zong *4255# or My Zong App, Ufone *506#, Telenor *759#.
- Subscribe to the bundle before departure, and check the confirmation SMS for the data, minutes and expiry date.
- Check the price on the operator’s own page on the day you buy. Roaming prices change often, and the figures in this article are dated snapshots, not a live price list.
- Keep enough balance for the bundle plus tax. Zong’s data bundles are priced plus tax, and Ufone’s buckets are paid from balance that is taxed when you recharge.
- If a bundle runs out in Saudi Arabia, data stops until you buy another bundle — do not browse on the base per-MB roaming rate.
FAQs
Which operator has the cheapest Umrah roaming bundle?
On listed price per GB, Ufone’s 10 GB hybrid bucket (Rs 3,900 balance, 10 GB plus 120 minutes) and Zong’s Saudi Mega (Rs 5,500, 10 GB plus 2 GB WhatsApp) are the cheapest. After the 15 percent recharge tax on Ufone balance, the Ufone bucket costs about Rs 449 per GB in cash. Jazz is the most expensive per GB, but its price includes tax.
Do I need to activate roaming before leaving Pakistan?
Yes. Every operator says roaming must be activated before you leave — Jazz *7626#, Zong *4255#, Ufone *506#, Telenor *759#. Activate it and subscribe to the bundle before your flight.
Can I use WhatsApp calls on a roaming bundle?
Jazz says WhatsApp audio and video calls work on its Saudi bundles on all Saudi networks. Zong’s Saudi Mega includes 2 GB of WhatsApp data. For other bundles, WhatsApp calls use the bundle’s data allowance.
What is the cheapest Zong Umrah bundle?
Zong’s Mini Umrah Offer is Rs 1,500 for 2 GB, 10 minutes and 10 SMS. The Super Umrah Offer is Rs 3,000 for 5 GB, 20 minutes and 50 SMS. All three Umrah offers carry monthly validity.
Why are there two prices for Telenor’s Umrah bundles?
Because Telenor’s own pages disagree: the bundle pages list Rs 1,300 (Basic) and Rs 2,500 (Premium), while the Umrah travel SIM page lists Rs 1,500 and Rs 3,000 for the same bundles. Check the live price in the app or on *759# before buying.
Does the Jazz Hajj Bundle work for Umrah?
Jazz describes the 8 GB Hajj Bundle (Rs 6,500, 60 days) as a Hajj-period offer. It may not be available for an Umrah trip — ask Jazz before counting on it, and use the Saudi 2 GB or 6 GB bundles for Umrah instead.
